This is the beginning of the Monmouth Freeway, NJ 18 north, in Wall Township.  The roadway continuing straight is NJ 138 east.  The Monmouth Freeway was planned to continue south to the NJ 34/NJ 35/NJ 70 junction in Pt. Pleasant, but the section between there and NJ 138 remains stalled and may never be built, so NJ 18 currently begins at this partial cloverleaf.  Filmed July 30, 2000.					This is the beginning of the Monmouth Freeway, NJ 18 south, at Spring Valley Road in Old Bridge Township.  While the section of NJ 18 north of here was planned to be upgraded to full freeway, this plan was never carried out due to subsequent development along the roadway.  Instead, the freeway begins here at this final at-grade intersection.  Filmed July 30, 2000.

This is the Monmouth Freeway, NJ 18 north, at exit 6(NJ 138 West, Monmouth Boulevard) in Wall Township.  Here, the loop ramp from NJ 138 east joins the NJ 18 northbound roadway, which actually continues several hundred feet back to the south before its terminus.  Filmed July 30, 2000.
					This is the Monmouth Freeway, NJ 18 south, at exit 29(CR 520, Tennant, Red Bank, Morganville) in Marlboro Township.  Exits 29 and 25 are poorly signed and numbered:  the small green sign on the right here is the ONLY sign for exit 25A.  Filmed July 30, 2000.

					This is the Monmouth Freeway, NJ 18 south, north of exit 19(NJ 34, Pt. Point Pleasant, Matawan) in Colts Neck Township.  Here, the freeway curves east to avoid the Naval Weapons Station Earle.  Filmed July 30, 2000.
This is the Monmouth Freeway, NJ 18 north, at exit 13(South CR 547, East NJ 36, Garden State Parkway, Wayside, Eatontown, Long Branch) in Eatontown Boro.  This large interchange may have once been planned to be the junction between the NJ 18 Monmouth Freeway and the NJ 35 North Jersey Shore Freeway.  The northern section of the NJ 35 freeway was cancelled, and the southern section was incorporated into the NJ 18 freeway, resulting in the strange layout of the NJ 18 freeway on the map.  However, despite its cancellation, this interchange retains the '3-y' form that may have been originally planned to junction the two freeways, with the third leg continuing towards NJ 36 instead of continuing as the NJ 35 freeway.  Filmed July 30, 2000.

This is the Monmouth Freeway, NJ 18 north, south of exit 19(NJ 34, Matawan, Point Pleasant) in Colts Neck Township.  This section parallels the northern border of the Naval Weapons Station Earle.  Filmed July 30, 2000.
					This is the Monmouth Freeway, NJ 18 south, at exit 13(East NJ 36, Hope Road, Eatontown, Long Branch) in Tinton Falls Boro.  This large interchange may have once been proposed as part of the NJ 35 North Jersey Shore Freeway.  Originally, the section of NJ 18 south of here was part of the NJ 35 freeway, but the section north of here was cancelled and the southern section was incorporated into NJ 18, which originally terminated here.  However, the large '3-y' interchange remains at the once proposed freeway junction, perhaps as a remant of the original design for a freeway that was never built.  Filmed July 30, 2000.

					This is the Monmouth Freeway, NJ 18 south, at exit 6(NJ 138, To NJ 34, To I-195, To Garden State Parkway, Point Pleasant, Belmar) in Wall Township.  Here, the freeway mainline ends and remaining traffic is directed to NJ 138 east.  As is visible here, the carriageway actually continues south a few more hundred feet, and then becomes woods.  Filmed July 30, 2000.
